Peirce Secondary School started functioning in 1994 on the premises of Bishan Park Secondary School. Mr Chia Choon Kiat was its first Principal.

It began with an intake of 356 Secondary 1 pupils. On 17 February 1995, the school moved to its current premises at 10 Sin Ming Walk.

From 2007 to 2008, the school embarked on an upgrading exercise (PRIME Phase 8) of its premises to include an Indoor Sports Hall and other facilities. The project was completed on schedule and the school returned to its home campus in December 2008.

Today, the school has an enrolment of about 1000 students with a complement of more than 60 teachers. There are altogether 28 classes distributed across 5 levels – 18 Express and 10 Normal (Academic) classes.

Over the years, it has made progress in becoming a choice school for students staying in the surrounding districts of Sin Ming, Bishan, Ang Mo Kio and Upper Thomson. Some of its main feeder primary schools include Ai Tong School, Ang Mo Kio Primary, Pei Chun Public, Catholic High School, Townsville Primary and Marymount Convent.

The aggregate score for students entering Secondary One classes has remained steady compared to previous years.

School Crest

cropped-pierce-logo-1.pngThe school crest is shaped like a torch. The flame ignites the minds of our students. This give rise to our School Motto – Fax Mentis Incendium Gloriae. Translated from Latin, it means “The Passion for Glory is a Torch to the Mind”. Students of Peirce strive for glory and excellence. This quest will spur them to be innovative, creative and courageous.

In the bottom triangle is our school initials, PS. The triangle also symbolises the tripartite efforts of parents, pupils and teachers to help our pupils succeed.
